大須觀音寺原本建於岐阜縣的大須，1612年德川家康把整座觀音寺移建至現今地並把那裡名為大須。及後大須觀音寺被破壞了兩次，現在所見的大須觀音寺是1970年重新建設的。

大須觀音寺以展示美濃時期的藏書及大須文庫而聞名。
