新世界是位於天王寺公園西邊的繁華商業街，以大阪市地標通天塔為中心，有不少餐廳食店及娛樂場所。1903年，這裡舉辦了第5屆勸業博覽會，之後仿巴黎艾菲爾鐵塔的通天塔及仿美國康尼島的Luna Park相繼建成，陸陸續續聚集了不少電影院、劇場及飲食店，自此就成為集觀光娛樂及飲食購物的綜合娛樂區。
