日本自動車博物館是一座3層紅磚建築，於昭和53年(1978年)開館，初期設於富山縣小矢部市，展示首代館主所收藏的汽車，後來於平成7年(1995年)遷移到現址。館內以生產商及類型作分類，展示約500輛包括平治、寶馬、勞斯萊斯、豐田等生產的舊式汽車。
