由高第(Antoni Gaudi，1852-1926)於1888年所建，高第的馬賽克(mosaic)碎瓷拼貼法也是在這裡首次運用，鐵製拱門上鑄造了桂爾(Guell)家族徽章，建築物開始浮現高第曲線建築風格，例如中央大廳的抛物線拱頂、蜿蜒的樓梯、花樣各異的煙囪等等。1984年，桂爾宮被選為世界文化遺產。
