98.05米高的鐘樓是威尼斯最高的建築物，於912年建成。最初的用途除教堂鐘樓外，據說也是伽利略利向人們示範望遠鏡的瞭望台，以及在鐘樓上吊著關犯人的囚籠。鐘樓建成後1000年，鐘樓不幸倒塌，後市政府於10年之後在原址上建造一座與原來一摸一樣的鐘樓。

乘坐電梯到鐘樓頂部是觀看整個水都的最佳位置。
